Points continue to flow for Siddal

Gareth Greenwood’s men look certain to finish second behind Leigh Miners Rangers.

Rochdale Mayfield, who complete their Premier fixtures at home to Wath Brow Hornets on Wednesday, could match Siddal’s points tally but their points difference is currently 119 inferior.

Siddal were making it six wins in a row yesterday and have piled up 188 points in their last four games.

They surged 24-0 up in half an hour with two tries each from fullback Freddie Walker and stand off Shaun Garrod, all converted by centre Gavin Stead.

West Hull replied with converted tries just before and just after the break to cut the gap to 12 points, Ian Kerman and Callum King touching down and Danny Nicklas adding the goals.

However, Siddal produced another scoring burst to surge clear again.

Hooker Sean McCormack went over. Stead converted and then added a 55th-minute penalty to make it 30-12.

Replacement Tom Garratt and centre Zac McComb crossed in quick succession and Stead added one more goal to wrap up an easy win.

Garrod picked up his fifth man of the match award of the season while loose forward Ryan Stern was best for the visitors.

Elland were beaten 19-16 at Salford City Roosters in Division One.

Junaid Mailk’s side are fourth from bottom but safe from relegation with games against title hopefuls Kells at home and mid-table Myton Warriors away to come over the next two Saturdays.
