Potts and Saxton staying with Fax

Halifax RLFC wingers Gareth Potts and Tommy Saxton have signed new one year deals with the club.

Potts will extend his stay at the MBi Shay for another year after joining the club from Batley Bulldogs after the conclusion of the 2013 season.

The former Wakefield Wildcats junior featured predominantly for Richard Marshall’s side this season before an injury towards the end of the regular season saw him miss part of the Super 8’s Qualifiers series.

Experienced winger Saxton capped a fine season with two tries in the crushing win over Bradford Bulls in the Qualifiers.

The former Featherstone Rovers man will face stiff competition on the wing next term following the arrival of Will Sharp from Rovers as well as Potts, Jake Eccleston, Alex Brown and utility back James Saltonstall.

The 2016 season kicks off at the MBi Shay on Sunday, February 7 against Whitehaven.

The early bird season ticket deal runs out this Saturday and supporters are encouraged to take advantage before the price increases.
