Siddal power past West Hull

Siddal made short work of West Hull to retain their three point lead at the top of the National Conference League on Saturday.

They converted a 26-4 interval lead into a 44-18 win over their fourth-placed visitors with the backs grabbing all the points.

There was a hat-trick of tries for Shaun Garrod and he kicked one goal for a 14-point haul which was matched by winger Gavin Stead, who kicked seven goals.

Centre Tom Garratt touched down twice and full back Freddie Walker and Gareth Blackburn got the other four-pointers.

Centre Matthew Plummer (two), winger James Miller and second row Luke Gomersall replied for West Hull but they could only add one goal, from full back Kieren Jones.

Siddal are at home again next Saturday against Pilkington Recs, who lost 8-6 at home to Kells at the weekend.

Meanwhile, second-placed Wath Brow Hornets were 30-22 winners against Lock Lane while third-placed Leigh Miners Rangers edged past hosts York Acorn 36-34.

Elland lost 58-16 at home to East Leeds in Division One. The bottom side host mid-table Oulton Raiders on Saturday.

Siddal under 15s are through to the final of the U16s National Cup at Wakefield in a fortnight after winning 22-4 at Wigan St Judes on Sunday.
