The hosts missed further opportunities before Siddal steadied the ship with a try from centre Chester Butler, replacement Gareth Blackburn adding the goal.

Stephenson weaved his way through for a try he converted himself and Craig Todd touched down five minutes later to make it 32-6.

Siddal at last found some form and put in a 14-point burst through hooker Craig Sanderson, winger Steve Hope and Butler’s second plus one Blackburn conversions to claw it back to 32-20.

However, Dockers finished the stronger, with a long-range effort from Steve Milne and Cook’s second, Stephenson adding both goals.
