Halifax League secretary Edmondson died last week and his funeral is taking place today.

Greenroyd beat Hove Edge by 84-78 at Sowerby T & BC on Sunday and team member Jim Eaton said: “It was a great team effort. We were really up for this one as a tribute to Malcolm,

“He was a Greenroyd member and good friend to all the team.

“We are hoping the prize money will pay for a new competition trophy named after him with Greenroyd BC the first name on that new trophy.”

Greenroyd had beaten Pellon A by one point in a tense semi-final while Hove Edge accounted for Luddenden Foot C by 85-79.
