A roots musician of considerable stature and notoriety Sid Griffin founded the recently reunited Long Ryders back in 1980s' Los Angeles.
He is without question one of the architects of Americana and Alt-country.
After relocating to Britain in the 1990s Griffin formed The Coal Porters, an acoustic five piece who mix folk, country and bluegrass. But he visits Hebden Bridge Trades Club on Sunday, June 19 (8pm - tickets http://thetradesclub.com/events/sid-griffin) as a solo artist on a nationwide tour for only the second time in a decade. A noted raconteur, an archetypal up-tempo Kentucky native, at home on 12-string guitar, mandolin or banjo, Sid is Exhibit A when it comes to Americana music!
