A young teen from Harrogate has staged a spooky Halloween ball to raise £23,000 for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, a charity that represents families and patients treated in the Leeds Children’s Heart Unit.

Isabella Cook, aged 16, teamed up with her mum Patti to arrange the ball and add to the £170,000 already raised by the Cook family for the regional charity through numerous fundraising events over the past decade. This year they also chose to support The Sick Children’s Trust.

The night saw 230 people attend The Cedar Court hotel in Harrogate for a champagne reception, four-course meal and an evening of entertainment, including an auction and games throughout the night.

Patti, Isabella’s mother, said: “This event is our thank you for the constant support of Children’s Heart Surgery Fund - a charity that has been prominent throughout Isabella’s life - and for the fantastic work of the staff at the unit.”
