13. Goodbye Blockbuster
Back in 2000 Halifax residents could pay a visit to the local Blockbuster Video and rent a film. The town centre branch closed down back in 2013 when the chain went into administration.
14. Nightclub changes
Since 2000 the old cinema now nightclub on Commercial Street has gone through three name changes. First we had Coliseum, then there was Liquid and now we have Atik.
15. Football change
At the start of the millennium, football fans could watch Halifax Town AFC play at the Shay. But when the club went into administration in the 200708 season they were replace by FC Halifax Town.
16. Register office move
After 131 years at its home on Carlton Street, Halifax Register Office made the move to Spring Hall.
