Investigation into Ash Green school fire

Vow by head teacher

Ash Green Primary School head teacher Mungo Sheppard vowed to have children back in as soon as possible after it was hit by a severe blaze last night. You can read the full story here

More video emerges from school fire

Schools, residents and groups have spoke about their shock and offered their support to Ash Green Primary School.

We are checking with police on their investigation after a man was arrested in connection with the fire.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said theyreceived a report of an intruder alarm being triggered at Ash Green Primary School in Clough Lane, Mixenden.

Officers were dispatched to the scene and found one of the buildings on fire.

Emergency services attended and a man was located.

He was arrested and taken to hospital for further treatment.

Road closures still in place

We’ve had reports that the road is still closed around the school.

At 11.12pm last night West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said that damping down continues and the incident was reduced down to three fire appliances.
