Selection headaches

Choices, choices for Chris Millington now that Luke Summerfield and Matty Warburton are back among the squad, especially given that Warburton scored against Yeovil last week. Summerfield and Jamie Cooke were both on the bench last week, and they are surely two players Millington would be tempted to bring in. Certainly feels like a Summerfield type of game to me, against a top quality side on a lovely looking surface, Town really need someone of his quality on the ball in the middle of the park to retain possession and try to wrestle some control over the match. Warburton might have done enough last Saturday to keep Cooke on the bench, but you could toss a coin between those two - or maybe it will be both of them and Milli Alli will drop out? Other than that I’d expect the same side

After a run of nine games without a win, Chesterfield have won four and drawn one of their last five

Haliax have only won 3 of their 17 games so far in 2023, excluding penalties

ICYMI - Town boss Chris Millington’s thoughts on the re-signing of winger Max Wright on loan from Harrogate

Can’t help but feel incredibly jealous at Chesterfield’s promotion pushing in stark contrast to Halifax’s ambitions, which at the moment are to keep the drop zone at a comfortable distance. All a far cry from recent visits here, when Town were going toe-to-toe with The Spireites, with a team peppered with quality players giving it their all in a side playing with real energy and panache. Seems a long time ago on days like these. When you look at the two teams on paper today, there’s going to be a fairly big differenc, Chesterfield are jam-packed with talent, recently signing Ryan Colclough, Paul McCallum and Andrew Dallas, players that would limp into the Halifax 11
