Concerts kick off another big year

Two brilliant concerts will take place in Brighouse next month kicking off the town's burgeoning arts and entertainment calendar

Organised by The Brighouse Business Initiative, the first concert on March 5 at the Civic Hall is a songs from the musicals show

The second, a Grand Concert at Central Methodist Church on Easter Saturday (March 26). Natasha Harper presents West End Musicals II with songs and music from Austria to the South Pacific.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most famous musicals set the scene from The Sound of Music to South Pacific and the wonderful songs Some Enchanted Evening and There is Nothing Like a Dame.

There’s also wonderful music from West Side Story and Hairspray, Wicked and Cabaret, Spamalot and Les Miserables.

On March 26 local groups will show off their talents in A Brighouse Celebration of Music III. This is the third concert of its kind and includes The White Rose Orchestra conducted by Chris Irvin from Hebden Bridge.

Soloists Rachel Harrison (soprano) and Paul Holroyd (tenor) will be accompanied by the orchestra, performing popular songs accompanied by local pianist Caius Lee who is bringing along his choir, Treble Talents made up of eight to 13 yeas old and who will be singing Can you Hear Me by Bob Chilcott and Butterfly by Alan Simmons.
