Rotary Club hails this year's Vintage Weekend a 'fantastic success'

The Hebden Bridge Vintage Weekend at Calder Holmes Park has been called another fantastic success by Rotary Organiser David Clegg.

David said: “Blessed by good weather, record crowds came out this weekend to see nearly 400 classic cars, trucks and motorbikes on the Saturday and the same number of vintage entrants on the Sunday, making it another fantastic success.

“With entrants bringing some superb vehicles from as far afield as Blackpool, Birmingham, Cleethorpes and Tyneside and everywhere in between, our annual show which we’ve run since 2005 is classed as one of the best in the North.”

As well as the vehicles, visitors enjoyed a wide variety of stalls, a full range of entertainment and food and drink to suit everybody’s tastes including a vintage beer bus from Liverpool and also Steampunk fashions as part of the Steampunk Festival.

The winners for each day are available to view at www.hebdenbridge-vintageweekend.org.uk.

Together with the Easter Monday Duck Race, also organised by the Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge, the club has raised over £600,000 since 2007.

David continued: “I’d like to thank not only all the participants and visitors who make the weekend what it is, but all the Rotarians who work so hard planning it during the year, their friends and families and particularly all our Friends of Rotary without whose help we couldn’t stage the event.

“Floodworks in Hebden Bridge permitting, we’ll be back next year on July 31 and August 1, 2027 with another fun packed weekend for all the family.”
