Nick Akeroyd: Wife's tribute to devoted Halifax dad and husband who was 'full of mischief, laughter and a cheeky smile'
The wife of a much-loved Halifax dad-of-three who died in a motorbike accident has paid tribute to her beloved husband.
Nick Akeroyd, who was 32, could not be saved after the crash on Moor End Road, between Pellon and Mount Tabor, on Wednesday afternoon.
His wife Ceejay described him as “a larger-than-life character, full of mischief, laughter and a cheeky smile”.
Nick was born and grew up in Halifax, mostly in Illingworth.

He worked at Specialised Coatings, on Gibbet Street, but Ceejay said her husband had also worked as a mechanic and as a tattoo artist.
The pair had known of each other for several years before they met officially on a night out in Halifax three years ago and married nearly two years ago.
Nick was described by his family as an amazing dad to this nine-year-old son Reggie, seven-year-old son Renley and 15-month-old daughter Autumn.
"Never one to miss an opportunity for a laugh, Nick lived life his own way and made memories that will last forever,” said Ceejay.

She said he was “a loving dad to his three beautiful children, a devoted husband, family man and a friend to many”.
She added: “He was taken far too soon, but his stories, laughter and love will live on through everyone who knew him, especially his children.
"Forever loved, forever missed, never forgotten.”
A statement from Nick’s family released by police last week said: “Nick was a loving husband and an amazing dad to three children, loved by all.

"Nick was the life and soul of any party and would light up the room as soon as he walked in.
"Nick will be missed by anyone who knew him.”
A fundraising page set up to pay for Nick’s funeral has seen donations pouring in from people who knew him.
