Air ambulance sent to rescue woman trampled by herd of cows in Halifax

On Tuesday at 7,10pm the Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team (CVSRT) had a request from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to help with the rescue of a woman who had been trampled by cows near Walter Clough Lane, Halifax.

Hide AdYAS and Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) were first on scene and provided initial medical care.
When the CVSRT arrived they safely packaged and transferred the woman onto a stretcher and carried her to the ambulance.
A spokesperson for the CVSRT said: "Walking through a field of livestock can be an intimidating experience and cows, particularly ones with calves, can behave unpredictably
"We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."
A total of 26 volunteers for the CVSRT were sent to the incident which took almost two hours.
