A Halifax singer will perform for McFly’s Danny Jones this week as part of a national competition.

Singer-songwriter Libby Marshall, based in Halifax, will head down to London this week as she prepares to compete in the finals of the Greene King Untapped 2026 competition.

The competition will see nine emerging artists from across the UK attempt to impress a panel, including McFly’s Danny Jones, Fleur East, and representatives from Rolling Stone UK and Metropolis Studios.

It will be hosted by Capital Radio’s Chris Stark.

The winner will receive a £10,000 cash prize, a recording session at Metropolis Studios, a performance slot at the Rolling Stone UK Awards 2026, and a mentoring session with Danny Jones.

Libby has progressed through the regional stages before reaching the final, which will take place at The George — a Greene King pub in Southwark — on September 11 (today).

Speaking about the competition, Libby said: “Making it to the final feels incredible.

“Untapped has given us the chance to play to new audiences and we can’t wait to take to the stage in London.

“Winning would be an amazing opportunity to take our music to the next level.”
