M62 car fire: Drivers continue to face severe delays on the M62 as clean-up begins
Drivers are facing severe delays on the M62 this lunchtime (Friday) following a car fire.
According to AA Travel News, there’s queueing traffic and two lanes closed due to car fire on M62 both ways from J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor) to J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield).
There was a temporary hold of traffic.
Severe delays of 90 minutes are being reported on the M62 Eastbound and delays of around 30 minutes Westbound.
National Highways Yorkshire shared: “M62 eastbound J22 (Halifax) –J23 (Huddersfield), lanes one and two (of three) are likely to remain closed through the afternoon following a car fire.
“Contractors are making to scene to treat a large spillage before lanes can be re-opened.
“There are delays of up to 90 mins on approach.”
