Hearts beat faster for Buddy

After paying tribute to their rock idol in a show that has entertained audiences across the world, Buddy Holly and The Cricketers arrive at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, on Friday, November 11.

The rock n’ rolling show celebrates what would have been Buddy Holly’s 80th birthday with all the singer and musician’s biggest hits. It stars some of the finest actor-musicians in the UK, who have all featured on the West End stage in shows such as ‘Jailhouse Rock’, ‘Lennon’, ‘Buddy’ and ‘Forbidden Planet’.

The band was endorsed as Britain’s most popular Buddy Holly tribute act when they guested on BBC1’s Saturday night entertainment show ‘The One and Only’ hosted by Graham Norton.

September 7 would have been Buddy’s 80th birthday, and the boys will be celebrating the special date in the party tour, with hits including ‘That’ll be the Day’, ‘Peggy Sue’, ‘Heartbeat’ ‘Raining in My Heart’ and many more. The show rarely pauses for breath in delivering all the big hits.

Whatever the season, whatever the excuse to party, the show will make audience ‘Heartbeats’ a little faster.

During his short career, Buddy Holly, who died in 1959, wrote, recorded, and produced his own material. He is often regarded as the artist who defined the traditional rock-and-roll lineup of two guitars, bass, and drums.

Praise for the show has included “Fantastic...the best tremendous night out...can’t praise the show enough.”

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available from the box office on 01422 351158.
