The duo, known under the pseudonyms Khn (guitarist) and Klek (drummer), have been musical collaborators for two decades, having performed together in various projects since the age of 13.

Through tight, pulsing drum grooves and intricate tangles of double-neck microtonal guitar, the band summons swirling vortices of hypnotic sound and vision.

Following the release of debut album Volume 1 in 2024, Angine de Poitrine has been in the eye of an ever-growing storm of enthusiasm from audiences, critics and the music industry thanks to their electrifying performances.

They gained viral status earlier this year when a live session for American radio station KEXP scored millions of views – now hitting the 20million-plus mark.

Their second album, the brisk, high-voltage Volume 2 inspired by acid techno, disco, and rock was released earlier this year, and they are currently enjoying a sold-out European tour before heading to the US for a further run of sold out shows.

Next summer’s Halifax date is just one of three UK shows on the UK leg of the world tour which will also see them play two nights in London.

Nicky Chance-Thompson, CEO of The Piece Hall Charitable Trust, said: “Just as The Piece Hall is a place for everyone, we strive to programme a really diverse summer series and this booking puts us right on the cutting edge of culture. The band’s quirky look has captured the headlines, but it's their phenomenal musicianship that has captured hearts. Our unique venue is the perfect site for this completely unique band. This will be a very special show indeed.”

Angine de Poitrine is the latest artist announced for Live at The Piece Hall 2027 which will also see headliner shows from Kraftwerk, Pete Tong Ibiza Classics, Suki Waterhouse, Rudimental, Bananarama, Slash, Rick Astley, The Saw Doctors, Kaiser Chiefs, Alfie Boe, Ronan Keating, Jack Savoretti and James Morrison as well as three nights with Simply Red.
