'Shocking' vandalism at Halifax beauty spot

Vandals have ripped up two of the bollards at a Halifax beauty spot.

The destruction at Albert Promenade, near Savile Park Moor, is thought to have happened overnight.

A lamppost is also understood to have been damaged.

One of the ward councillors for the area is urging anyone with information to contact Calderdale Council.

"I'm aware of the shocking vandalism on Albert Promenade. Thank you to those who have been in touch with me about this,” said Coun Dave Mendes da Costa (Labour, Wainhouse).

"I have been in touch with the council about this and understand that the damage to the lamppost has been looked at and some barriers have been placed to fill the gap where the bollards have been broken.

"I have asked for CCTV footage to be reviewed to see if individuals or number plates of cars can be identified.

"If anyone has any information please do report it to the council at https://new.calderdale.gov.uk/dio/report-nuisance-vehicle .

"I'll give an update on this as soon as I am able.”
