Piece Hall announcement: This 'absolute icon' is set to perform show in Halifax next summer
Legendary Led Zeppelin musician, Robert Plant, is heading to Halifax next summer with roots-folk band Saving Grace and Suzi Dian.
Following the release of the acclaimed Saving Grace: All That Glitters… EP last month and fresh back from a run of US dates, they will bring the Roots & Branch tour to Live at The Piece Hall on Sunday, June 27.
They will be joined by special guests award-winning folk stars Kate Rusby and Seth Lakeman.
Tickets go on sale at 10am Friday via ticketmaster.co.uk.

Robert Plant’s critically-acclaimed Saving Grace: All That Glitters... is out now digitally on Nonesuch Records. The EP, previously released on vinyl for Record Store Day, follows Plant’s 2025 critically acclaimed album, Saving Grace; both feature singer Suzi Dian and a band of musicians from the English countryside that Plant calls home.
The EP’s four tracks further explore the folk and Americana songs that Plant and the band love: the traditional tunes The Blackest Crow and Two Coats, Gillian Welch’s Orphan Girl, and Bert Jansch’s Poison.
This group of distinguished musicians – vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown – explore the evolution of roots music both vintage and modern.

The band members were drawn together by a shared love of roots music – blues, folk, gospel, country, and the sounds that lay in between.
Saving Grace began at Plant’s home on the Welsh borders in 2019; this new collective of like-minded collaborators had been experimenting for barely a year, even serving as an unheralded opening act on a handful of dates for Fairport Convention, when the pandemic intervened and any formal plans were temporarily shelved.
Once protocols permitted, Plant and Saving Grace began to record informally in a barn setup or outdoors, then booked themselves in small venues without fanfare.
Earlier this year Robert Plant was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Americana Music Association Awards.
Returning to her Yorkshire roots for this show, Kate Rusby is widely regarded as one of England’s finest folk singers, renowned for her crystal-clear voice and beautifully crafted interpretations of traditional songs alongside her own acclaimed compositions.
She has captivated audiences around the world with her warmth, humour and unmistakable voice, with her albums winning a string of BBC Radio 2 awards and her music featuring in numerous TV programmes and films.
Seth Lakeman was catapulted into the music mainstream when he was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2005 for his album Kitty Jay. His follow up was the gold-selling Freedom Fields – which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.
Multiple albums, tours and high-profile collaborations later, the acclaimed folk artist released his latest studio album The Granite Way in 2025 recorded alongside a group of longtime collaborators and referring to ancient stories that inspired his early West Country storytelling.
Nicky Chance-Thompson MBE DL FRSA, CEO of The Piece Hall Charitable Trust, said: “Another absolute icon is heading to our iconic venue! We strive to be world class and they don’t get much bigger than the lead singer of one of the most influential rock bands of the last century.
“Robert’s current musical journey has seen him evolve and embrace a range of genres working alongside the absolute cream of the crop when it comes to roots and folk.
"There’s an extra treat at this show with the appearance of Yorkshire’s very own queen of folk Kate Rusby as Live at The Piece Hall expands its musical repertoire once again, as we look to deliver more variety for all tastes.”
