'Prolific shoplifter' banned from eight Calderdale shops including three supermarkets
A man has been banned from a string of shops in Brighouse town centre.
Damien Beal – described by police as a “prolific shoplifter” – has been slapped with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which stops him going to eight named stores in total.
Officers say the order is aimed at “protecting businesses across Brighouse from further offending”.
Under the terms of the five-year order, Beal must not enter:

Any Co-op store or its car park within the Brighouse area
Any Sainsbury's or Sainsbury's Local store, or its car park, within the Brighouse area.
Tesco on Huddersfield Road in Brighouse, or its car park
Aldi on Halifax Road in Brighouse, or its car park
W Boyes Ltd on King Street in Brighouse
Specsavers on Commercial Street in Brighouse
Boots on Commercial Street in Brighouse
Castle Stores on Castle Avenue in Rastrick
West Yorkshire Police has posted: “Neighbourhood Policing Team officers will be working closely with local businesses and retail staff to ensure that Damien complies with the conditions of his CBO.
"However, members of the public can also support us by reporting any suspected breaches.
"Any breach of the order is a criminal offence and could result in Damien being arrested and returned to court.”
Anyone with information or concerns about crime in their area can call police on 101 or contact officers by using the live chat on West Yorkshire Police’s website.
