This is when players from clubs and schools are able to play a fixture on the main Twickenham pitch, alongside the England players as they warm-up, prior to kick-off.

Due to the recent growth of the Old Brodleians Girls Rugby Team, the RFU were pleased to invite the girls that they had been selected.

The U13s team based at Woodhead in Hipperholme will play against Horton from Northumberland.

Team manager Karla Evans said: “This is a once in a lifetime game that they will never forget. It’s great that the girls have been selected, they’re very excited and still think it’s a dream.”

Not only do they girls get to play at the home of English rugby, but they get the chance to act as guard of honour too, which is when the girls line up outside of the tunnel as the England and Samoan players run out onto the pitch for the game.

“The club think it’s a fantastic opportunity for the girls not just for them but the schools they attend. After the recent selection of six girls from the Brods into the Yorkshire Squad, things are looking great for the ‘Brodettes’,” said Karla.
