Denholme dent Shelf hopes

Shelf FC's title hopes in Division Two of the Haslem-Sheppard Halifax AFL suffered a blow when they were beaten away to Denholme United Reserves last night.

Nathan Woodhead got the only goal of the game at Foster Park.

Illingworth St Mary’s Reserves, who are third, maintained their promotion challenge with a 3-2 win away to Shelf United Reserves while two goals from free-scoring Rory Thickett helped Sowerby United Reserves win their derby at home to Sowerby Bridge Reserves by 3-1.

Ryburn United Reserves are up to sixth in Division One after a 4-0 win away to next-to-bottom Midgley Reserves.
