Battling Ogden produces determined ride in Italy
Yorkshire rider Scott Ogden secured a hard-fought 15th-place finish for CIP Green Power at the 14th round of the Moto3 World Championship at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, in Italy, after a weekend of challenging track conditions and intense racing.
The weekend got underway on Friday morning with the first free practice session taking place on a damp circuit following overnight rain. As the track gradually dried, Ogden steadily built his pace throughout the session, completing 12 laps and saving his best until his final tour.
His time of 1:47.683 placed him an impressive sixth fastest, just 0.533 seconds behind session leader Joel Kelso.
By the afternoon, the Misano circuit was completely dry and temperatures had risen sharply, creating much faster conditions for free practice. With championship contenders searching for riders to follow in an effort to improve their own lap times, Ogden once again showed strong pace.

The Yorkshireman improved his time significantly, posting a 1:41.759 to finish 12th fastest, just 0.020 seconds away from Casey O’Gorman in 11th.
Once again, overnight rain left the circuit wet for Saturday morning's final practice session. Ogden was among the first riders to venture onto the track, using the 30-minute session to assess the conditions and steadily reduce his lap times as the circuit began to dry.
Qualifying followed later in the afternoon, with just 15 minutes available to determine the starting grid for Sunday's 20-lap Grand Prix.
Ogden completed seven laps and produced his fastest time of the weekend on his fourth lap, recording a 1:41.568 to secure 10th position on the grid.

Sunday's race took place in warm conditions, with Ogden making a strong start and initially settling into the battle with the leading group.
The opening laps were fiercely contested, with positions changing rapidly as the Moto3 riders fought for every advantage.
By the end of lap four, the leading seven riders had begun to edge clear of the chasing pack, leaving Ogden fighting hard in the tightly bunched midfield.
With the pace remaining relentless, Ogden continued to battle throughout the 20-lap contest, exchanging positions lap after lap.
During the closing stages, he became embroiled in a particularly close fight with fellow British rider Eddie O'Shea. The pair traded places several times during the final laps, with Ogden eventually emerging ahead to take 15th place at the chequered flag.
While the result did not fully reflect the pace Ogden had shown throughout the weekend, his performance highlighted his determination in one of the most fiercely contested classes in the MotoGP World Championship.
Attention now turns to the next round, with the 15th round of the 2026 Moto3 World Championship taking place at the Red Bull Ring in Austria this weekend (September 19 and 20).
