Festive events 2026: Swarm of entertainers descending on Halifax to launch Christmas celebrations
Halifax will be awash with festive spirit when a host of entertainers arrive to start the countdown to Christmas.
Live music, jolly characters, performances and more are planned across the town centre on Saturday, November 21.
The day is being organised by Halifax BID, under its Discover Halifax brand, to launch the town’s festive celebrations.
From 11.30am until 5.30pm that day, there will be a feast of entertainment at different locations, including performances by Victorian carol singers, Calder Brass Quartet, and drumming band Katumba.

There will also be appearances from The Grinch, stilt-walking elves Tinsel and Cracker, Kenny and Ronnie’s Christmas Market, a Christmas carriage, Joy Riding Reindeer and Bad Santas.
The entertainment will visit Woolshops, Halifax Borough Market, Market Street, Southgate, Westgate, Northgate, Old Market, Carrier Street, Corn Market and Crown Street, as well as Halifax Bus Station.
Victorian carol singers will also make appearances at Harveys of Halifax and Lister Horsfall.
In addition, visitors to Halifax town centre that day will be able to enjoy The Piece Hall’s Christmas markets, which are being held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from November 13 until December 20.
