Calderdale school becomes seventh to join multi-academy trust
A Calderdale primary school has signed up to be part of a multi-academy trust.
Old Earth Primary School, in Elland, has joined Polaris Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) following approval for the move from the Department for Education.
The trust also oversees Field Lane Primary in Rastrick, Luddendenfoot Academy, Rastrick High School, Salterlee Primary, Siddal Primary and Fixby Junior and Infant School, as well as Smarties Nursery in Rastrick.
Polaris MAT says their schools “maintain their distinctive ethos, identity and community presence while benefiting from the enhanced capacity, resilience and opportunities”.

Dan Burns, headteacher at Old Earth Primary School, said joining Polaris MAT “opens up exciting opportunities” for the school.
"It enables us to draw upon the collective expertise, resources and experience of the wider trust, whilst continuing to celebrate and nurture everything that makes Old Earth Primary School such a unique and valued part of its community,” he said.
"For our pupils and staff, this means enhanced opportunities, stronger collaboration and an even brighter future.”
Steve Evans, CEO of Polaris MAT, added: “Bringing Old Earth Primary School into our family of schools is fantastic news.
"Dan and his team have created something brilliant here in Elland.
"Our focus now is giving them the support, resources, and freedom to keep delivering great outcomes for their children.
“This partnership represents another important step in our shared commitment to raising standards and enabling every pupil to flourish.
"By working together, we can create even greater opportunities for learning, personal development and success, ensuring that every child is supported to achieve their full potential”.
